This year’s Quicksticks event took place on a beautiful Friday afternoon at Brickfields sports centre. The sun was shining, and the children were in high spirits. This event is split into a competitive event in which teams play a round robin tournament as well as a non-competitive event where children learn skills and hockey activities followed by some non-scoring games.
We had 6 teams enter the competitive competition and there were some really close matches and good hockey to be seen. Everyone had the opportunity to play every team and the top spot came down to a last-minute goal scored by Compton. Meanwhile, in the non-competitive pitch, children were learning dribbling and passing techniques in preparation for their games.
The games lasted 2 hours and results were collected. All children were awarded a certificate for attending and the top 3 teams awarded medals. Please see the results below.
A huge thank you to Stoke Damerel for supplying young leaders to help umpire and lead the hockey activities as well as Ash Hough from Plymouth Marjon Hockey club for training them and providing activities.
