Arrows Archery at Goosewell

Year 5 pupils at Goosewell Primary Academy took part in a Level 1 arrows archery competition this week.  We began with a recap of the safety rules and technique involved then, after a practice session the competition began.  The red, yellow, blue and green teams scored a combined total of 87 points during the competition demonstrating that technique and accuracy improved over the course of the morning. Star archers were Leyton, Elliot, Jenson and Chloe who all scored a bullseye on more than occasion!

Year 4 pupils took part in a taster arrows session and really got to grips with archery concepts and skills through fun activities.  These activities provide an alternative and complementary way of developing movement skills such as coordination, balance and strength as well as developing personal, social and mental skills.

Well done everyone!
