Thursday 18th April 2024 – We finally got some good weather today and just in time for our annual Y5/6 Tag Rugby festival, hosted by sports leaders from Plympton Academy. 4 teams, representing Boringdon and Chaddlewood, came along to take part in our non-competitive, coaching festival. Today’s focus was not on winning at all but on helping the children to develop their Tag Rugby and teamwork skills. Due tips and coaching to iron out any wrinkles ahead of the main PSSP Tag Rugby event coming up later in the term. In particular, the rule of carrying the ball with two hands definitely caught a few players out – something to work on back in practice maybe. Thank you to the sports leaders who did a great job of refereeing and thank you to the teachers and staff for bringing their teams along. I really enjoyed this event and the chance to coach some already well-drilled teams ahead of their big competition – I hope you did too. Best of luck with the main event – I am sure you are going to do great!
