Primary Basketball (Heat 2) 2024

Tuesday 05^th March 2024 – What a fantastic afternoon of sport at Plympton Academy! 6 teams from 5 PSSP schools came along to compete in the 2^nd heat of the Primary Basketball competition. The winners from todays’ event will be invited to a finals playoff against the winners of the previous heat which was held at Coombe Dean. Teams from Montpelier, Widey Court, Plympton St. Maurice, Chaddlewood and Pomphlett took part in our round-robin event where 5 points are awarded for a won/3 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss. The sports hall was buzzing with excitement from the players and spectators. It was brilliant to see so many children playing and having a great time. To help with todays’ event I had some brilliant sports leaders from Plympton Academy – they refereed and scored all of the games and did a fantastic job – thank you all so much. At the end of the event, the scores were calculated and the winners announced… Congratulations to ‘Montpelier White’ team who were our overall winners today. It couldn’t have been closer for 2^nd place: Pomphlett and Chaddlewood were tied on points at the end so we needed to look at the number of baskets scored throughout the competition by each team – it was still close! There was just 1 basket in it! By just 1 basket it was Chaddlewood who took the runners up position in the end . Full table of results below.
