BEE Netball series

What a week packed with netball! 

We ran three different events across the week that targetted different abilities; giving children the chance to represent their school in a netball game setting. 

On the Monday, we had a 'Fun Festival' where teams took part in a carousel of different activities that tought them all they needed to know about Bee Netball. They played games that went through the basics, put them into practice and played some games of benchball with the netball rules. 11 teams came along to take part in this! 

Tuesday, we had fixtures played but they were more relaxed. This gave pupils more time to learn the positions and where they can go, pick up technique and tacticts with their team. 18 teams came along on this day, giving us three pools to play.

Wednesday saw a morning of competitive matches. 12 teams were randomly put into two pools, where they played matches following the rotations sheets. The top two placed schools from each pool advanced to the Devon Finals, being held in March! Congratulations to Chaddlewood, Compton, Bickleigh Down and Leigham on qualifying for the next round! Some fantastic netball played by all, and to a really high standard.

Huge thanks to the Stoke Damerel sports leaders for their help leading activities on Monday and umpiring some very close matches on the Wednesday. Also a big thank you to the young leaders from Lipson for their support umpiring on the Tuesday.
