PSSP Cross Country Series

A huge 1,118 pupils came to take on the Cross Country series! There were three events held at Central Park, Eggbuckland CC and Coombe Dean where children from year 3-6 arrived to take on the challenge of each course. The routes started easier with the Central Park course being 720m long and quite flat, then moving onto Eggbuckland where hills were introduced and a longer course of 950m, then to finish the hardest course of all was Coombe Dean which was 1200m for year 5/6 with more hills and a very exciting run through the woods.

The noise on the day when schools spotted their team mates heading towards the finish was incredible! So much support and cheering for their friends to keep going and do the best they can. It was so lovely to see so many children cross the finish line with a smile and cheering when they had beaten the place they achieved in the previous race.

A huge well done to everyone that came and a big thank you to staff for arranging and bringing your schools. Also a big shout out to all the young leaders that helped from Lipson, Eggbuckland and Coombe Dean. Your support to the children has not gone un-noticed!
