The first major event of the year kicked off with our PSSP Cyclocross event. This year we had 6 teams enter the event held at King George V Memorial Playing Fields. Every team firstly rode in their school groups and were given place cards depending on where they finished. Children then competed against other schools that were placed in the same position. Depending on where they finished was the number of points awarded to their team score. The lowest total amount of points wins. The course was a challenging one with some obstacles, hills and also a steep downward finish. There was some great riding and some of the races were very close. The sun even made an appearance. All children left with a certificate and the top 3 schools were awarded medals.
The races were so close we had a joint second place on points which then had to be decided by the most amount of first place finishes. A massive thank you to Plymouth High School for Girls who supplied some outstanding leaders for the event. Also a big thank you to the OPM rugby club for allowing us to use their facilities.
