Lipson New Age Kurling - inclusive activity

Tuesday 23rd May saw three schools arrive at Lipson to take part in, for them a new sport. Prince Rock, Mount Street and St Mathews came in small groups to learn how to play indoor Kurling. Initially, time was given for the teams to learn how to push the stone, score points and how to block or hit their opponents out of the game.

All students got activley involved and were relishing in the competition.

After lunch the schools played a competition against one another. 5 points were given for a win, 3 for a draw and 1 for a loss. The results were as follows:

6th place = prince Rock  - 9 points (5 points from scores)

5th place = St Mathews (Angels) - 9 points (6 points from scores)

4th place = St Mathews (Peaches) - 15 points

3rd place = St Mathews (Super Mario) 16 points

2nd place = St Mathews (Stitches) - 17 points

1st place = Mount Street - 23 points

Overall a great event with everyone having lots of fun! Well done to all the students that came and to the staff that brought them along. Your support with these events is perfect!

Until next time :-)
