Plympton Family Y5/6 Tag Rugby 2023

Tuesday 16^th May 2023 – Perfect weather today for our annual Y5/6 Tag Rugby festival, hosted by the Sports Leaders from Plympton Academy. Teams from St. Matthew’s, Leigham, Yealmpstone Farm and Montpelier brought their teams along to take part in our non-competitive, coaching festival. Today’s focus was not on winning at all but on helping the children to develop their individual and teamwork skills. Our sports leaders were on hand to get the children warmed up and then refereed the games and coached the teams throughout. I think there were definitely a few lessons being learned today, particularly the rule of carrying the ball in 2 hands at all times. Thank you to the sports leaders for doing such an amazing job and thank you to the staff who brought their teams along, I really enjoyed this event and I hope you all did too. Well done to all of the children who took part – I look forward to seeing you all putting your skills to practice at another event soon.
