Widewell Level 1 Archery 2023

Thursday 11^th May 2023 – Another exciting morning at Widewell: today was the Y3 & Y4 House Archery competition, supported by a fabulous team of Y5 sports leaders.  Every child in year 3 & 4 took part, representing either Bigbury, Bovisand, Jennycliff or Wembury House. On arrival, each group was introduced to the activity with a demonstration and some tips and then it was over to the sports leaders. They helped all of the children, showing them how to nock the arrows and giving them coaching for accuracy. After a practice round, each person had 6 arrows to score as highly as possible for their house. Y3 were up first and then Y4. At the end of the morning, the results were calculated and the results were incredible! I think we have some budding Archers in our midst! After working out all of the maths, I can finally announce the winners… Congratulations to Jennycliff House, who were our overall winners today and to Wembury, who were incredibly close in 2^nd place. Well done to everyone who took part today, I hope that you all enjoyed it!
