Bee Netball 23 Events

Three days of netball brought us the fun festival with 12 schools taking part. They each rotated on different activities that taught and built up their skills in netball. Playing mini games, and activities  that taught them all they needed to know for the basics of netball. A lovely day for schools and pupils getting to represent their school in an event that that was new to them, with one pupils saying ‘I loved the King’s and Queen’s game, it was really fun’.

The second day saw 14 schools come along to play friendly netball games. We had set out fixtures that were longer, to give more time on court to process the game and their positions. Teachers and young leaders were able to coach from the side line and change positions as many times as they like in the game. This gave the team an opportunity to play as many different positions as they can, and learn where they have to go; all while putting it into practice in a game. Well done to all the teams that came to take part, it was great to see the knowledge and confidence of the pupils increase throughout the day.

On the third and final day, 12 teams came along to take on the challenge of our competitive event. Teams were split into two pools and played each other. Teams had to follow the Bee Netball rotation with the all-important question of ‘who will advance to the Devon Finals?’ All teams played fantastically, they were patient and respectful to the other teams. Some fantastic games played by all, well done!

The 1st and 2nd placed teams from each pool qualified for the Devon Finals, being held on the 22nd March in Torbay. There were: Austin Farm, Bickleigh Down, Chaddlewood and Compton. Huge well done and good luck in the finals!

Thank you to all the leaders who helped throughout the week and Marjon’s for hosting our event.
