Plympton St. Maurice L1 New Age Kurling 2023

24/02/2023 – A fun packed morning of activity at Plympton St. Maurice this morning as the Y5 and Y3 classes were introduced to the game of New Age Kurling. This target-based sport has been adapted from curling so that it can be played indoors, on a flat surface.  The Y3 and Y5 children were competing in their House teams to win points. In New Age Kurling, each player delivers a ‘stone’ towards the target at the other end by sliding it smoothly across the floor. The score is then determined by the number of stones closest to the centre of the target. After a brief introduction to the technique and rules, it was straight into our round-robin competition. After each House had played all the others at least once, the scores were totted up and the winners announced…Congratulations to the Red team who were the overall winners from both classes. Well done to everyone who took part today, I hope that you enjoyed it and feel like you have developed your target skills.
