Year 7/8 Indoor Athletics

The year 7/8 indoor athletics is always a very highly competitive event with some very impressive results. This year we had 10 teams which was a fantastic turnout and in the morning there was a lot of excitement surrounding the event. The event was at Marjon and it kicked off with the 4x2 lap relay girls whilst the boys took to their first field events. The field events were Shot put, Speed Bounce, Standing Long Jump, Standing triple Jump, Vertical Jump and Soft Javelin.

Different schools were winning the races so it was hard to decide who was ahead on the track. The individual races were next and consisted of lots of heats to make sure all the athletes raced. The final race of the morning was the obstacle relay race where athletes had to sprint, go over the high stepper, hurdles and do 10 speed bounces. Results were then calculated and sent to schools as well as medals for the top 3. A huge well done to all athletes that competed and a big thank you to Marjon University for providing leaders that helped at the event.
