Plympton & Hele's Cluster indoor athletics

Two teams took on the challenge of the Indoor athletics cluster competition at Hele’s School  last week. There was a lot of excitement on arrival to represent their school and compete in a competition outside of school. Each person had been given a maximum of three track and two field events to take part in. There were a range of different relays to race; running various lengths either in a pair or group of four. On the field, there were long jump, triple jump, speed bounce and chest push.

The girls and boys took turns on the track and field, racing against the other schools that attended. For those waiting their turn, they had the important role to encourage their team and support them to not give up. Although there were only two teams in the competition, they sure made up for it when supporting their team mates!

There were many close results, with a few photo finishes but thanks to the super helpful leaders from Hele’s, nothing was missed.

Standing long jump: Girls- 1.70m, Abigail/ Lucy (YFPS) Boys- 1.90m, Elliot (Plympton St Maurice)

Triple Jump: Girls- 5.82m, Amelia ( Plympton St Maurice)  Boys- 4.82m, Kai (Plympton St Maurice)

Speed Bounce: Girls- 45, Connie (YFPS) Boys- 49, Elliot (Plympton St Maurice)

Chest Push: Girls- 5.5m, Abigail (YFPS) Boys- Kai/ Fletcher (Plympton St Maurice)
