Plymstock/Coombe Dean Indoor Athletics

The fifth family cluster Indoor athletics event took place at Plymstock Secondary School with 5 teams attending. The rain on the morning of this event was biblical and some schools unfortunately walked and were already soaked through before even starting! This event is always a competitive one and over the years there have been some close results. The first events for the boys were the Long jump and triple jump whilst the girls started on the track with the 1+1 relay. Plymstock young leaders were on hand to teach children the technique of the triple jump, which even some adults struggle with!

Once these events were completed the boys and girls swapped. Other events included speed bounce, chest push and other track events such as the 4 x 1 Relay, the 2+2 and the 6 lap Parlauf. At the end we finished with the obstacle relays before saying goodbye.

A huge well done to all the children who took part, especially the soaking wet ones! Also, a massive thank you to the teachers for bringing the athletes. Another thanks to Plymstock School for hosting the event and providing some fantastic leaders.
