Primary Inclusion Rowing 2022

Monday 28th November 2022—What a great start to the week! 7 PSSP primary schools came along to Cann Bridge today to take part in our inclusive Rowing event, hosted by our brilliant team of sports leaders from Tor Bridge High. Teams from Cann Bridge, Drake, Holy Cross, Leigham, St. Matthew’s, Eggbuckland Vale and Yealmpstone Farm came to compete in a personal best competition, focusing on self-belief. Before the schools arrived, our young leaders received some training from Josh and Hayley so that they could run various challenges and help the children with their technique. There was just enough time to have a little bit of practice and try some of the challenges ourselves before the schools started to arrive. As soon as they were in and settled, the leaders introduced themselves and then it was right into the action. Today’s event was all about personal best and striving to beat your own score. First up was the 100m dash: the children were challenged to row 100m as fast as they can but on their next go they had to try to beat their own score. We also had a 200m dash and a Fish Game challenge for all the children to try and even had some puzzles and art work stations for the children waiting for their turn. I would like to say a huge thank you to out sports leaders, who once again were brilliant with the children and really helped to make this such a fun and relaxed event. It was a pleasure to look around the hall this morning and see so many children smiling and enjoying being active and challenging themselves with something new. Thank you to all of the staff who brought their teams along, I hope you enjoyed it too and would be keen to come along to another PSSP inclusion event.
