Stoke Cluster Indoor athletics 22

The indoor athletics series have officially started with the Stoke Damerel cluster up first. Over the next few weeks, 8 different indoor athletics events will happen in our cluster areas, with the winner from each heat advancing through to the finals in January. 

This week, 5 teams took to the track to compete in various different relay races, and then went to the field where they took part in either chest push, speed bounce, long jump or triple jump.

There was a fantastic atmosphere throughout the event, with pupils cheering on their team mates and encouraging them to keep going and try their best, even when it got tough.

Here were our top athletes of the day!:

Standing long jump: 

Girls- 1.76m (Ella, Montpelier)

Boys- 2.0m (Harry, Stoke Damerel)

Triple Jump:

Girls- 5.0m (Amy, Montpelier)

Boys- 5.42m (Max, Stoke Damerel)

Speed Bounce:

Girls- 56 (Ella, Montpelier)

Boys- 50 (Charlie, Montpelier)

Chest Push:

Girls- 6m (Bonnie, Stoke Damerel)

Boys- 6.5m (Jacob/Freddie, Stoke Damerel)
