Plympton Family Girls' Football

Tuesday 18th October 2022 – Following the brilliant success of the Lionesses, Plympton Academy sports leaders were inspired to lead a ‘Game of Our Own’ style event for primary age children. PSSP schools were invited to sign up to bring along their budding stars to take part in a friendly Football competition. We had a mixture of experience this afternoon but the emphasis was focused solely on the celebration of female sport, rather than the winning and everyone played really well. We had an all-female team of sports leaders on hand to score/time-keep and referee the matches. – thank you ladies, you did a great job! We played a round-robin style event so that every team got to play each other and at the end, the scores were calculated and the certificates awarded accordingly. Everyone who took part today received a certificate in recognition of their passion, respect and determination. Congratulations to Bickleigh Down ‘A’ team, who were the overall winners today. Well done to everyone who took part, I really hope that you all enjoyed it and if you aren’t playing for a team outside of school already, check out your local teams – they would be thrilled to have you!
