Widewell Level 1 Archery 29.11.2021

Monday 29th November 2021 – Time for something a little bit different today - our Y3’s were introduced to Archery. First off we looked at all of the safety tips and then how to hold the bow, draw the string and aim. Then we had a few practice arrows before getting into our competition. Today we discussed the importance of perseverance and how we can always strive to do our best. Today’s event was a personal best challenge as well as a house competition. Each turn, the children had 3 arrows to score as many points as they could. Then, on their next go, they were challenged to try to beat their own score. After 3 goes, their best scores were recorded and tallied up to give us an overall winning house team. Congratulations to Wembury and Bovisand who were tied for 1st place with 177 points. Bigbury were a very close second and Jennycliff finished in 3rd place overall. Well done to everyone who took part today, I hope you enjoyed it and would be keen to take part again.
