Plympton Family Y3/4 & Y5/6 Cross Country '21

Wednesday 06th October 2021—Today was our annual Plympton Family Y3/4 and Y5/6 Cross Country event. Old Priory and Yealmpstone Farm went head to head in 4 different races to compete for the coveted shields. As well as show casing the vast amount of talent that our young people have, this was an opportunity for us to celebrate one of the School Games values: Determination. We had 41 children taking part this afternoon and every one of them was determined to do their best and finish the   course. It is quite a deceptive course and can be very challenging to complete the 2 laps but all of the runners went off quite quickly and were somehow able to maintain a great pace. Well done to every one of you—all of your teachers and family that came to cheer you on were so proud of you and they were great races to watch. As the runners came over the line they were given a place card and these were collated by their staff—the top 4 runners from all schools were counted and the school with the overall lowest score for the boys and girls were the winners. Congratulations to Old Priory, who were the winners of the Y3/4 Girls race; the Y3/4 Boys race and the Y5/6 Boys race. Congratulations as well to Yealmpstone Farm, who won the Y5/6 Girls race. I would like to say a special thank you to the young leaders from Heles school who volunteered to be our marshals and hares—you did a great job, thank you.
