Secondary & Special Schools Football

Wednesday 29th September 2021 – Today was our first PSSP Secondary & Special Schools Football event at Goals. It was so good to be back running this event again! We had 4 teams with us this morning representing Plympton Academy and Stoke Damerel. Some of the students attending had never played before but this event is not focused on winning. At these events, we take the opportunity to celebrate the School Games values of Self Belief, Determination and Team Work: more than anything we want it to be fun and for everyone to enjoy playing. Throughout the morning, all of the teams get to play each other and points are awarded depending on the result: we award 5 points for a win/3 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss. At the end of the morning, all of the results are tallied and the winners announced. Everyone who takes part today receives a certificate and we celebrate each other’s teamwork and sportsmanship. Congratulations to Stoke Damerel B team who were the overall winners and a huge well done to all who took part today, I really hope you enjoyed it and would be keen to come back. Thank you to all of the staff who brought their teams along and a special thank you to the young leaders from Stoke Damerel, who (as always) did a brilliant job at refereeing all the matches. Our next event is on Wednesday 17th November 2021 – I look forward to seeing you all there.
