Chaddlewood L1 Dodgeball 24.06.2021

Thursday 24th June 2021 – An action-packed morning of fun and sport today at Chaddlewood. Today we introduced both Y5 classes to the deceptively tactical game of Dodgeball. As a starting point, we went over the basic rules but then gradually introduced some of the more complex rules. At first glance, Dodgeball can seem very straight forward but as our teams found out, there are a lot more rules and tactics when we play the full game. After some practice games, it was into our round-robin tournament.

What a tournament! There were some great games and it got quite competitive. 5 points were allocated for any wins and 1 point for any losses. All teams played each other twice and at the end, we collated the scores and announced the results… In our first session, the Yellow House team stormed into the lead with wins in all their games. Blue House were a close runner up. We didn’t tell the next group what the first group had scored so it was all to play for. Unbelievably, the Yellow House once again won all of their games to receive a maximum score of 30!

What a sporty lot you are Yellow team – congratulations on becoming the Y5 Chaddlewood Dodgeball champions.

Well done to everyone who took part today – you picked up all the rules really quickly and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship throughout. See you soon for our next event.
