Widewell New Age Kurling - Respect in Sport

25/03/2021 – Something a little bit different this morning: today several groups from across the school came along to learn the art of New Age Kurling and discuss the importance of sportsmanship and respect in sport. New Age Kurling is a target sport where teams deliver stones to try to get closer than the opposition to the bullseye. We didn’t keep any scores today as our focus was on how we can respond when we win or lose. We discussed the importance of sportsmanship and what this meant to us: we agreed that whether our team won or lost, the nice thing to do is applaud the other team. It was so nice to see all the teams congratulating each other on their wins and the level of respect that they all had for each other. All in all, another great morning of activity and fun at Widewell. I am looking forward to seeing you all again soon for another event.
