Widewell Level 1 New Age Kurling 15.12.2020

A fantastic way to finish our programme of Level 1 competition this afternoon with some New Age Kurling at Widewell.

Today we introduced Y4 to the game of New Age Kurling. This target-based sport has been adapted from curling so that it can be played indoors, on a flat surface.  The Y4 children were competing in their House teams to win points. In New Age Kurling, each player delivers a ‘stone’ towards the target at the other end by sliding it smoothly across the floor. The score is then determined by the number of stones closest to the centre of the target.

Each team picked up the new game really quickly and soon started thinking about some tactics. At the end of the afternoon, the results were collated, and the winners announced…Congratulations to ‘Jennycliff’ house, who were the overall winners for the Y4 competition.

Well done to everyone who took part, I really hope you enjoyed it. Have a Merry Christmas all, I look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.
