Plympton Family Cross Country 2014

Monday 13th October 2014 and possibly one of the wettest days so far this year but we are made of stronger stuff in Plympton and we persevered with the Cross Country regardless. Thankfully the rain held off long enough for us to hold our races and 5 schools took part to compete in our annual family event. It was fantastic to see so many Y5 and Y6 children eager to compete despite the weather.

Medals were awarded to the fastest girl and boy overall  - this was Olivia from Boringdon (who was also the fastest girl the previous year) and Charlie from Glen Park. The top 4 runners from each school collect points for their team and based on this the winning team for the girls was Old Priory  - who also won the boys team event –congratulations to you all! We had two fantastic races despite the conditions and I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did. We wish you luck in all your future competitions.

I would like to pass on my thanks to the Young Leaders from Heles school who helped to make the event such a huge success and also to parents and staff who braved the weather to cheer their teams on. I hope that we have even more taking part next year and look forward to seeing you all again soon.
