Plymouth Students are the Cream of Culture

This year’s Sainsbury Level 3 School Games cultural competition saw a massive entry from across the county with youngsters of all ages designing and drawing a Devon School Games logo.

The winners would not only receive a gold Sainsbury School Games medal but also would find their logo on all future Devon paperwork and branding.

Plymouth itself had a massive entry and it was a tough job for the panel of judges from Plymouth University to decide on this year’s finalists.

After some deliberation Plymouth not only took the top spot with Robbie Mark Evan’s brilliant teamwork logo but also the runners up spot with Caliph Ali’s determination logo.

Robbie who was in year 6 at Plympton St Maurice primary school said “I think it is good because Devon is close to the coast and this encourages teamwork and keeps people fit and healthy” whilst Caliph who goes to Ridgeway encompassed the games value of determination, communication and teamwork.

You will now start to see Robbie’s logo on all Devon paperwork and branding at School Games events (see attached to see the winning entries).

This year’s cultural competition will be released shortly with a chance to produce media, films and reporting articles so keep an eye out for the big release.
