Creating positive experiences for young people

Sports England nine-month leadership and accelerator initiative is back

They’ve launched the second cohort of the Patchwork Programme, bringing together 13 teams across sport, health, education and housing to tackle inactivity and inequalities among children and young people.

Designed with those facing the greatest barriers, the programme helps teams test ways to create meaningful experiences of physical activity that inspire a lifelong love of movement, with learnings shared openly through the Positive Experiences Collective.

Plymouth & West Devon Cross County

The Plymouth and West Devon secondary schools cross-country Championships will take place on Thursday 13th of November at Staddiscombe.

If you can confirm attendance with Katherine Endacott - plymouthschoolathletics@gmail.com this would help with preparation, and as always if you have any sports leaders/volunteers who can help with marshalling the event this would also be a great help on the day

Registration from 11am will take place inside the staddy where a room is allocated for us. First race is at 12pm and we should be finished by 2pm

Selections for Devon Schools cross-country Championships will take place following the event and the Devon school’s cross-country championships will take place in January. I am just awaiting date and venue details.

School Volleyball League - Unity Through Volleyball

The tournament is scheduled for Monday, 10th November, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. I appreciate that this is relatively short notice, but I would be grateful if participants could arrive a little earlier so that we can conduct a short health and safety briefing and review the tournament rules before we begin.

This initial tournament will be aimed at Year 9 and Year 10 students. Our goal is to run two separate competitions on the day — one for girls and one for boys — although we also have plans for a mixed tournament if needed.

Please let Connor Bromley know if your school is planning to take part - connorbromley2015@gmail.com  and if you have any questions or require additional information.
