Plymouth SSP Primary XC Warm Up 1

Once again the sun shone on what has become one of the true cross country courses used prior to the main event later this month.

With 14 teams taking part in the four categories it was very busy at the start line and well contested at the finish.

First up were the year 3/4 girls with eight teams contesting for the points. First over the line was Eve from Oreston guiding her team to 2nd place overall, only to be pipped by Goosewell, whilst Pomphlett took 3rd.

The year 3/4 boys were up next and this time it was Elburton who dominated in the individual ranks taking 1st and 2nd, however it Goosewell who once again took the top team spot. Elburton did manage to take 2nd spot overall whilst Compton took 3rd.

The year 5/6 girls was a much closer affair with Oreston taking 1st (not Mary Deans as announced at the event) on 53 points, just behind them was Pomphlett with 57, whilst Widewell took 3rd with 61. Kate from Oreston also took top spot making sure the school achieved top honours.

Last up were the year 5/6 boys and with all 14 teams competing it was packed at the start line. Once again Goosewell took top spot with 44 points, just six points ahead of Oreston with 51, whilst Pomphlett took 3rd. Mary Deans took the top individual prize as Oliver picked up the gold medal.
