School’s Challenge 2026

This week we have met with Taurus Events who deliver the Plymouth Festival of Running.  We will be working with them again to deliver the School’s Challenge Event will take place on Sunday 17th May 2026 alongside the Plymouth Half-Marathon.  We are always looking to improve these events, so we have met to discuss ways that this can be done, including increasing the number of toilets and the way we distribute medals as well as how we get the children onto the course and into the enclosure.  We appreciate that last year, due to changes in the infrastructure, some schools found it hard to get from their meeting point to the enclosure.  To prevent this happening again, Taurus Events will be looking at the access to the enclosure and will be providing us and schools with a number of selected school meeting points.  We will let schools know these in March and you will need to select one and let us know at the Briefing Meeting which a member of staff from your school MUST attend.  This meeting will be on Tuesday 5th May, please put this in your diaries now.  This is essential for Safeguarding and to collect, t-shirts and race numbers.

Schools Challenge Entry forms will go out to school next week.

Our new schools programme, Ready, Set, Squash, gives primary teachers and coaches everything they need to deliver fun, inclusive squash sessions – with free online training, ready-made lesson plans and discounted equipment. It’s flexible, curriculum-aligned and works in any space, no prior experience required.

Squash packs more into every minute - fast, fun, and loved by children. It builds agility, confidence, and coordination, while being inclusive, adaptable, and easy to deliver in halls, playgrounds, or multi-use spaces.
