PSSP Primary PE Conference

On Friday 12th September 2026 we held the PSSP Primary PE Conference.  In her keynote address Professor Liz Durden-Myers shared a contemporary update on the importance of physical literacy including how the concept is being embraced across the policy landscape and what this means for the future of physical education.

Following on from the keynote address, delegates either joined a workshop with Liz on Physical Literacy, the Stormbreak workshop or the Create and Dance CPD delivered by the Royal Ballet and Opera.

Thank you to all of those who supported the event.

Devon Primary Schools Team Table Tennis Championships

The Annual Devon Primary Schools Team Table Tennis Championships will be held this year on WEDNESDAY 5th NOVEMBER 2025 at Plymouth Table Tennis League Headquarters, Desborough Lane, Desborough Road, St Judes, Plymouth PL4 9PG.  The starting time will be 10.00am and finishing time approximately 2.30pm – depending on the size of entry

The events will be for Under 11 boys and girls teams. The decision as to whether the competition will be run on a group or knock out basis will depend upon the size of the entry and the decision as to this matter will be at the sole discretion of the Devon Schools’ Association Secretary (Graham Pearson), whose responsibility it is to organise the competition.  Teams will consist of four players for boys and 3 players for girls* but may be changed during the competition so that extra players may be used.  Substitutes must play as the third/fourth ranked player.  If numbers 1-3 drop out, original players move up one place to allow the substitute to play as number three/four.  Players must be listed in rank order of ability and must be under the age stipulated on 1st September 2025.

*Table Tennis England have decided to try to make girls’ events more popular by reducing team numbers for the girls’ teams to 3- a-side.  No change for the boys.

Also, in the interests of developing Table Tennis amongst the U11 age group, we are considering opening the County Team Championships to a second team from each school. To this end, please let us know if your school has a second team of SUFFICIENTLY HIGH STANDARD that you would wish to enter into this year's Devon Schools Team Championships.  Acceptance of the extra teams cannot be guaranteed until final entry numbers are known but we will send confirmation of all entries the day after this year's closing date.

The two colour bat rule will apply for this competition as will the usual rules prohibiting the wearing of white clothing by competitors.  Shorts must be worn during play.

All winning schools will represent the County in the Zone Championships that will be played on Sunday 8th February at Eggbuckland Community College.

Fees:  £15 Affiliation* plus £5 per team (please let us know if you require an invoice to pay by BACS).

*This charge will also cover school affiliation for the Primary Schools Individual Championships on Wednesday 4th February 2026.

Please enter via the link below by the end of the day on Friday 17th October    NB – late entries will not be considered under any circumstances.
