ISSUE 045

Let’s gear up for Cycle to School Week 2025!

There’s just one month to go until Cycle to School Week returns from 13–17 October, and now is the perfect time to get the schools and communities you work with ready to ride.

Cycle to School Week is a national celebration of cycling, encouraging families to swap the school run for a more active, sustainable journey, and with your help, we can make 2025 the biggest year yet!

Pledges are now LIVE , and there’s something for everyone:

For families:

  • Cycle to school every day during Cycle to School Week
  • Swap one car journey for cycling
  • Discover somewhere new on my cycle
  • Go on a cycle ride with my family

For schools and teachers:

  • Encourage my pupils to cycle to school
  • Put up a Cycle to School Week poster
  • Download and use free classroom resources
  • Make your own pledge!

Let’s show the power of cycling in transforming the school run, and together, inspire the next generation of confident, happy cyclists.

This Girl Can launches new advertising campaign

Our groundbreaking This Girl Can returns today with a powerful new campaign, We Like the Way You Move, rewriting the narrative of what women getting active looks like and championing women from underrepresented groups.

Thirteen street-cast women from across England take centre stage in the TV advert, shown moving in ways that reflect their real lives – from family bike rides, dancing in the kitchen and pregnancy yoga, to wheelchair rugby, boxing and walking football.

Soundtracked by a reimagined version of the BodyRockers’ iconic track I Like the Way, the campaign celebrates the different ways women choose to move for themselves and highlights the immediate benefits this can bring.

Through this, it aims to unlock the possibility of movement to the many women who currently do not feel like they belong in the world of sport and physical activity.
