Plymouth Armed Forces Day - Saturday 28 June 2025 

Plymouth’s exciting Armed Forces Day returns to Plymouth Hoe on Saturday 28 June, in association with Babcock International Group. Visitors can enjoy a free family-fun day, packed with thrilling demonstrations, hands-on activities, live music and exciting displays - starting at 10am until 10.30pm.

Across the Hoe there will be displays from each military service, showcasing the most impressive and interactive military equipment and vehicles, including: the Royal Navy Dive Tank and the Merlin Mk4 helicopter. School Games Mark Application Window Now Open 



Schools can now apply for the School Games Mark 2024/25. Make sure to use the Criteria and Guidance documents and reach out to your SGO for support.

To be eligible for platinum, schools must meet historical gold/platinum benchmarks and be on track for gold this year.

All successful applicants will receive a wooden award badge and a digital celebration pack. These will be distributed at the National School Games Summit for SGOs to collect.

Please note: when selecting sports in Section 6, the sport name must be clicked on, not the circle next to the sport. This screenshot shows where (in pink) you need to click to select a sport.

New Game Changers campaign launched 

The National Lottery is spotlighting a new generation of Game Changers – young people who are making a difference and transforming lives in their communities, including through sport and physical activity. 

Its new research reveals young adults are increasingly turning to real-life influences such as family, friends and colleagues as role models, while 80% feel a personal responsibility to set a positive example.

National programme to deliver inclusive sport in schools

 

The Government has today announced the launch of Inclusion 2028, a programme to improve access to PE and school sport for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.

The Government has today announced the launch of Inclusion 2028, a programme to improve access to PE and school sport for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.

The programme will work with a network of 50 lead schools to provide training to teachers, helping the creation and delivery of inclusive lessons to meet the diverse needs of all pupils, including those with physical, sensory, cognitive, communication or social and emotional needs.

Inclusion 2028 will be delivered by a consortium led by the Youth Sport Trust, alongside partners ParalympicsGB, Swim England, Activity Alliance and nasen, and supported by the Association for PE and Sport for Confidence.

It aims to provide leadership opportunities for 1,500 pupils, create 600 new extra-curricular inclusive clubs, and support more than 240,000 pupils across the three years.
