Football for All Roundtable with Fred Thomas MP

It was fantastic to join Fred Thomas MP and many key organisations at his Football for All Roundtable last week. The aim of the meeting was to discuss issues around barriers to accessing sport for young people in Plymouth, and what can be done to address them.

It was important to be part of these discussions to ensure that young people and schools were represented. We continue to strive for a sustainable system to improve the health and well-being provision for the young people of Plymouth.

Having so many key stakeholders in the room at once was hugely beneficial, and it gave us the opportunity to really drive home the reality of the issues we have here in Plymouth.

Fred is committed to taking these discussions away to national organisations and government in order to take action to improve access to sport here in Plymouth.

The PSSP asked for Fred to lobby for PE as a curriculum subject and long-term funding commitments for school sport to include both Primary, Secondary and Special Schools.
