Paul Roberts

Paul Roberts our Outdoor Sports Co‑ordinator has been a hugely valued member of the PSSP team for the past 16 years.

Paul has inspired countless young people to discover a love for adventurous outdoor activities. Whether on the water through Bell Boating and Canoeing, or on the walls through Climbing, Paul has given students the confidence, skills and encouragement to push beyond their limits.

His dedication has not only supported young people in achieving excellent GCSE Climbing grades, but has also helped many continue their passion for climbing well into adulthood. Paul’s impact reaches far beyond school sport—he has created lifelong memories, shaped futures, and opened doors to opportunities that many young people may never have experienced without him.

We are incredibly grateful for everything Paul has contributed to the PSSP, and he will be greatly missed by colleagues and students alike.

We wish Paul all the very best for the future and hope his next adventure is just as rewarding as the many he has helped others to experience.

Hayley Tasker

Hayley began her journey 10 years ago with us as one of our Young Ambassadors, before becoming our Apprentice, and most recently serving as a School Games Organiser and Coach.

Throughout her time with us, Hayley has made a significant impact on our events and activities. Her creativity and passion helped introduce new experiences for young people, including our Dance and Cheerleading Festivals, which have become highlights in the calendar.

Hayley’s dedication, energy and commitment have shaped the programme in so many positive ways, and she will be greatly missed by schools and students alike.

We wish Hayley all the very best for the future and look forward to seeing where her next chapter takes her.

Schools Day Ticket Application 2026 - FREE TICKETS TO WATCH INTERNATIONAL CRICKET @ TAUNTON

We are delighted to share that, in partnership with Somerset County Cricket Club, we will be hosting a School’s Day this summer:

📅 Wednesday 1st July 2026
🏏 England Women A vs India Women A (50‑over match)

To give as many schools as possible the opportunity to attend, each school may request up to 50 tickets (maximum of 50 students, with a minimum staff-to-student ratio of 1:10).
Please note, pupils must be in Year 3 or above to attend.

✅ Register Your Interest

Please complete the form below to register your interest:

School's Day 2026 Ticket Application Form   – Fill in form

Submitting the form does not guarantee tickets, as availability is limited. However, completing it accurately will help us allocate places fairly and meet as many schools’ needs as possible. If spare tickets remain after allocation, we will contact schools to offer additional spaces.

Due to the way the fixtures have fallen this year, and organisational changes within Somerset Cricket Foundation, we will only be offering one Schools Day. We hope to offer more opportunities in 2027.

Please note that all schools receiving tickets will be required to affiliate with The Devon Cricket Foundation at a cost of £30. An invoice will be issued to each participating school accordingly.

Somerset Women will also be playing two fixtures in Exmouth this summer, on 13 May and 17 June. There may be an opportunity for schools to attend one of these matches, and further details will be shared once arrangements have been confirmed.

If you have any questions regarding the 1st July, please contact Toni Smyth at the Somerset Cricket Foundation directly via email at toni.smyth@somersetcricketfoundation.org.

Plymouth & West Devon Athletics Championships

I have attached below the timetable for the Plymouth and West Devon Schools Championships Trials please read this email carefully as there are a few key changes

There will be NO HURDLES at this competition as distances have changed this year in line with England Athletics regulations therefore if you have competent hurdlers who compete outside of school and have valid times over new hurdles distance on uk ranking they will be put straight through to Devon Schools if they wish to be put forward please let me know

Year 12 and year 13 do not need to compete at these trials as numbers are always low they can just be put forward for consideration as long as there is no more than 3 athletes names in one event again they will progress through to Devon Schools as long as times/distances are sufficient standard

Year 11 same as every year I am fully aware that it is GCSE period and this will have an impact on some athletes if an athlete is unable to attend and want to be considered for selection can you please let me know

Relays due to Hurdles being removed from timetable, I have added mixed relays, each team will consist of two female two male runners, the running order is female female male male

It is imperative that you let me know if your School will be attending, and as normal help will be required in the field events by members of staff to ensure we run to time and make the afternoon run smoothly if there is an event that you would like to do, please do let me know
