Year 8 Boys Rugby Festival

The Year 8 Boys rugby festival started off in chilly but dry and sunny conditions; quite the change from the previous two weeks. The event was attended by teams from Coombe Dean, Devonport High School for Boys, Eggbuckland, Hele’s, Lipson, Plympton Academy, St Boniface's and Stoke Damerel.

We had some extremely close matches and it was clear to see the teams developing during the Festival.  There were some outstanding individual performances as well as teams working together to defend strongly.

The teams played in two pools in the morning, the winners of each pool, Coombe Dean and St. Boniface’s played each other with Coombe Dean winning and St. Boniface’s runners-up.  The 3rd/4th match was won by Hele’s who played Plympton Academy.

Well done to all those who attended, thank you to OPM Rugby Club for allowing us the use of the Club House.

We have a break now from rugby before the Year 7 ‘Cunningham Cup’ taking place on Friday 26th March 2026.
