Year 10 & 11 Boys Rugby Festival

On a very wet and windy day last week, we held our Year 10 & 11 Boys Rugby Festival at the King George V Playing Fields in Elburton.  Plympton Academy, St Boniface’s and Stoke Damerel took to the field, for the Year 11’s, this will be their last rugby festival representing their school.  The games were played in a highly competitive manner but also with support and respect for one another.  Despite the weather, the boys had a great time and we shortened the event so they were not too soggy for long!  Plympton Academy were crowned winners of the event with St. Boniface’s runners up and Stoke Damerel in third place.

This week on Friday 14th November we go again with Year 9 and Year 8’s will be on Friday 21st November 2025.

Upcoming Webinar: Exploring Player Characteristics in Girls’ Football

We’re excited to announce the first in a series of three webinars delivered by the Barclays Talent Education Team across the schools network.

Taking place on Monday 9 December at 4-4:30pm, the first session will:

  • Introduce the key characteristics that form part of the national talent framework, exploring what they mean in practice
  • Showcase examples of these characteristics in action, bringing them to life on the pitch
  • Highlight how this framework supports the identification and development of talented girls, linking with the upcoming 'Discover My Talent' referral window in January.

We look forward to helping teachers recognise these characteristics within their school environments, and to supporting girls as they develop their potential, express themselves through football, and demonstrate the values and behaviours that help players thrive both on and off the pitch.
