Primary & Special Schools Football June 2024

Wednesday 19th June 2024

Our final PSSP Inclusion Football event for this academic year and what an exciting event. There was a real buzz of excitement amongst the children today as they arrived ready to represent their school. Teams from Cann Bridge, Courtlands, Pennycross, Knowle, Yealmpstone Farm and Plympton St. Maurice all came along to take part in our friendly tournament aimed at promoting teamwork, respect and having a whole lot of fun. Once again, we were fortunate enough to have an incredibly talented group of Sports Leaders with us from Stoke Damerel: they support the teams, lead warmups, referee the games and keep all of the scores. They have been helping at these events all year and it is because of them that these events are so popular with the children. Thank you all so much for your hard work and how amazing you are with the children and thank you to Ms Crowe for always arranging them for us – they are a credit to your school. This event is a round-robin  so every school gets to play all of the others. 5 points are awarded for a win, 3 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss. Once all of the games are played, the scores are collated and we present the children with their certificates on the main pitch. Congratulations to Pennycross who were the overall winners today and to Cann Bridge who were runners up once again. A special congratulations and well done to the team from Courtlands as it was their first time with us at this event. Well done to everyone who took part today, I really hope you all enjoyed it and are keen to come back next year. Keep watching the PSSP website for the new dates and sign up for Term 1. I am looking forward to seeing you all at another PSSP Inclusion event very soon. Thank you to all of the teachers who work incredibly hard to get their children to these events. See you all soon.
