Inclusion Lead School Newsletter

WELCOME TO THE AUTUMN TERM—DEVON INCLUSION NEWSLETTER

Hello and welcome! This is the first Devon Inclusion Newsletter of 2025/26, packed with updates, training
opportunities, and resources for anyone working with children with SEND.
If you’re new to this newsletter, here is a quick introduction: My name is Catherine Kilburn (Killer), and I’m the
Head of PE at Orchard Manor School (OMS), Dawlish. OMS is a special school for children aged 4–19,
supporting pupils with communication and interaction difficulties, autism, and learning needs. Students attend
OMS either as day or residential pupils.
I’ve worked across various schools delivering PE as well as leading a School Sports Partnership (SSP). I am also
now the Lead Inclusion School for Devon, part of a national network working on the Inclusion 2028
programme. This is a three-year, DfE funded initiative aiming to improve opportunities for young people with
SEND through targeted interventions in PE, School Sport, and Physical Activity.
Devon is a large and diverse county, so a key part of my role is to signpost and support schools with local
providers who deliver activities on the ground. Please drop me an email if you need any information or advice!
