KS1 Cross Country event

The first event of the new academic year kicked off with the KS1 Cross-country. We had around 90 children take part in the event held at central park in beautiful sunshine. Children started arriving full of excitement, eagerly awaiting their race.
The first race was the Year 1 boys race, this was one lap of the whole course which was roughly 400m in length, this was then followed by the Year 1 Girls race. Next was the Year 2 races which required two laps of the course (roughly 800m). These races were very close, and it was very impressive to see that some children didn’t stop running during the whole course or even slow down a lot! All children who finished received a sticker which they proudly wore.
A huge congratulations to everyone who took part and a special well done to the top 3 finishers from each race who walked away with a medal. Thank you to Plymouth City Council for allowing us to use the facilities and Plymouth Argyle community trust who provided some excellent leaders to assist with the event.
