Thursday 2nd October 2026 - What a brilliant afternoon of cross country running today at Eggbuckland Community College the second event of three, with the sun shining and the perfect atmosphere for KS2 pupils!

We welcomed 11 local primary schools, with over 300 children taking part in an amazing celebration of sport, teamwork and determination.

It was fantastic to see so many young runners giving it their all, showing great resilience, supporting one another and demonstrating such wonderful sportsmanship throughout the event.

A huge well done to every child who took part, and a massive thank you to all the schools, staff, volunteers and supporters who helped make the event such a success a huge thank to the leaders at Eggbuckland Community College.

Days like today are what school sport is all about – participation, enjoyment, building confidence and creating fantastic memories.

Well done everyone! You were all stars!

We look forward to the next Cross Country Event taking place next week at Coombe Dean Secondary School.
