On Wednesday 17th June we held the Mini Red Tennis event for year 3 and 4 pupils at the Plymouth Life Centre which provided an exciting opportunity for young players to develop their tennis skills in a fun and supportive environment. This format is designed to introduce children to competitive play while focusing on teamwork, enjoyment, and basic technique.

Each team is made up of four players: two girls and two boys, encouraging inclusivity and equal participation. Matches are played on smaller courts using softer red balls, making the game more accessible and allowing players to build confidence as they learn to rally, serve, and score.

The event promoted key values such as sportsmanship, cooperation, and respect, alongside improving hand-eye coordination, agility, and tactical awareness.

Overall, the Mini Red Tennis event is a fantastic introduction to competitive sport, helping pupils to develop skills, make new friends, and enjoy being active in a positive and encouraging setting.
