Four teams took part in the Year 7 development football festival held at Devonport High School for Boys. This festival is aimed at children who haven’t represented their school in football before. There was some great football on show and some close matches. We saw some very good shooting but equally as good defending. The festival was very friendly, and the attitude of the young people was brilliant. The teams that took part were Millbay, DHSB, Plympton Academy and Eggbuckland, they all played each other in a round robin format. We will look to potentially run another festival like this in the future and hope to attract more teams!

We hosted our annual Primary Dodgeball Fun Festival at the Plymouth Life Centre in which we had 13 teams attend. We played a round robin format, so teams played each other in rotation. Teams brought a squad of 10 with 8 players on a court at once. The festival was Christmas themed, and it was fantastic to see some schools in their Christmas outfits! There were some impressive dodgeball skills on show and the children seemed to grow in confidence throughout the afternoon.
Children had very red faces and in total the children played up to 8 games of dodgeball that were 8 minutes each! When the children weren’t playing dodgeball, they seemed to be enjoying the festive music and dancing away. Well done to everyone that took part and a huge thank you to Stoke Damerel and Notre Dame for providing some brilliant referees.
