SILVER AMBASSADOR (AdiStar) CONFERENCE 2010

On 3rd November 2010 14 students from form across the Sir John Hunt School Sports Partnership took part in a Silver Ambassador Conference at the Devonshire Health & Racquet Club in Plymouth.

The Young Ambassador structure is part of a national programme derived form the Beijing promise of creating a legacy for young people beyond the London 2012 Olympics. 2 students form each of the Sir John Hunt Partnership Schools were selected to become Silver Young Ambassadors (AdiStars).  :

• St. Boniface RC College
• Notre Dame RC School
• Sir John Hunt Community College
• Tor Bridge High
• Eggbuckland Community College
• City College Plymouth
• Stoke Damerel Community College

 This prestigious position has increased in its national recognition with the backing and sponsorship from Adidas. Silver Ambassadors will be expected to organise their schools Leadership Academy get involved in community & school volunteering and is also promote the 2012 London Olympic & Paralympic games.

Silver Ambassadors are expected to:

• Promote the 2012 London Olympics
• Promote the Olympic & Paralympic Values
• Promote Physical Education & School Sport
• Deliver 3 Intra House/Tutor Competitions
• Help with Delivery of Teams/Clubs
• Take Part in 2 NGB Leadership Awards
• Take Part in 1 NGB Young Officiating Award
• Help deliver at least one city wide event
• Promote the national ‘Adidas AdiStar Programme’
