PSSP New Age Kurling March 2024

Monday 11th March 2024 – Today some of our fab Tor Bridge High sports leaders hosted 4 schools for a PSSP Inclusive New Age Kurling festival. Children from Prince Rock, Salisbury Road, Cann Bridge and Holy Cross came along to take part in our friendly event, aimed at developing confidence, trying something new and having fun playing sport. New Age Kurling is a target-based sport that has been adapted from curling so that it can be played indoors, on a flat surface. Each player delivers a ‘stone’ towards the target at the other end by sliding it smoothly across the floor. The score is then determined by the number of stones closest to the centre of the target. On arrival, the schools were greeted by our leaders and shown how to play. We played a few games against each other and then played a Court Royalty game where each person aimed to become the King or Queen of the court. At the end of the morning, with smiling faces all round – the children received a well-earned certificate. I really hope that you all enjoyed the event and would come back again. Check out the PSSP website for more upcoming inclusive events.
