Secondary & Special Schools Football 22.06.22

Wednesday 22nd June 2022 – We couldn’t have asked for better weather today for our final PSSP Secondary and Special Schools Football event of this school year. We had a great turn out with 7 teams representing their schools: Cann Bridge, Coombe Dean, Plympton Academy and Stoke Damerel. 42 students were with us today for our fun event which focuses more on teamwork and respect, rather than just winning. There is an element of competition though as we play a round-robin style event, which means that every team gets to play each other. 5 points are awarded for a win, 3 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss. At the end of the morning, all of the points are counted and the winners announced…Congratulations to Stoke Damerel ‘A’ team who were our overall winners today and to Coombe Dean ‘A’ team who were just 2 points off them in second please. Full table of results below. Well done to everyone who took part today, I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did and would be keen to come back again in September. I would like to say a huge thank you to the sports leaders from Devonport High School for Girls and to Josh (PSSP) for doing such a brilliant job of refereeing and scoring for us today. Thank you to all of the staff who bring their teams along to these events, be sure to check the PSSP calendar for events upcoming in the new school year.
