Primary Inclusion Football 15.06.2022

Wednesday 15th June 2022 – what an absolute scorcher of a day for our final PSSP Primary Inclusion Football event for this academic year. For various reasons, we only had 3 schools with us today but we certainly made the most of it. Teams from Bickleigh Down, Old Priory and Hyde Park came along to take part in our super friendly competition which focuses on building confidence, developing skills and is an opportunity to meet children from other schools. As always, we had a fantastic group of sports leaders from Stoke Damerel with us to referee and score all of the games: once again they did a fantastic job and really helped to make sure all of the children had a great time – thank you all so much! Factoring in lots of breaks to hydrate and grab a brief moment in the shade, we played as many games as we could squeeze in during our time this morning. We play a round-robin style event with 5 points awarded for a win, 3 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss. At the end of the morning the scores are calculated and we have a presentation of certificates on one of the pitches. Congratulations to Bickleigh Down, who were our overall winners today. Well done to all of the teams , you played incredibly well and kept going throughout, which wasn’t easy in this heat. I really hope that you all enjoyed it and would be keen to come back next year. Thank you as well to Miss Crowe for organising the brilliant leaders, and thank you to all of the teachers/staff who brought their teams along today – I hope that you all enjoyed it too. I look forward to seeing you all in September.
