Primary Inclusion Boccia 24.05.2022

Tuesday 24th May 2022 – Another fantastic turn out for our PSSP Primary Inclusion Boccia, hosted by some of our Y7 sports leaders. 10 teams came along this morning to take part in our friendly Boccia event, aimed at children of all abilities and experience. Pomphlett, Salisbury Road, Holy Cross, Hyde Park, Woodfield, Eggbuckland Vale and Old Priory all brought teams along to take part in our relaxed, friendly competition where we play against as many teams as possible in the time we have. On arrival, there were quite a few nervous children but our Plympton Academy sports leaders did a brilliant job of showing them how to play and soon there were smiles all round. Speaking to a few of the teachers it was great to hear that several children had said how much fun they were having and that they would definitely like to do this again. I talked with a lot of teams about whether they thought that they were improving the more that they played: most agreed that this was a game where practice does help you to get better as you can better judge how much power you need to put into rolling the balls. I am glad you all enjoyed the event today – I certainly did and can’t wait for our next one. Check out the PSSP website for upcoming events. Thank you to all the staff who brought your teams along today and a huge thank you to the sports leaders for doing such a great job.
