Super 8 Start

The sky brightened just in time for the start of this year’s Super 8 start event held at Brickfields. There were 7 teams that entered this year’s event. Each team consisted of 8 boys and 8 girls. The first events were the 70m hurdle sprint for both the boys and the girls, once these heats were completed the boys headed to the field events whilst the girls were on the track. The field events were the High Jump, Shot put, Long Jump and javelin throw. The track events were the 100m sprint, 200m, 800m and the 4x100m Relays. Once the boys had finished on the field events it was time to switch and the girls turn to take to the field events.

Throughout the afternoon there were some fantastic scores coming in on the results sheets and we all knew it was going to be close! After the results sheets had been collected, we finished the day with a mixed relay which was a non-scoring event, this allowed all athletes to have a go at a relay event. A huge well done to all athletes that took part. These were the final standings -
