Yesterday was the first ever PSSP Year 7 dodgeball tournament, held at the Plymouth Life Centre. Each game was made up of 5 sets that were two minutes long therefore a total game was 10 minutes with the team winning the most sets taking the overall win. All the teams that took part managed to play each other once and there was some really close matches!
The first fixture was Stoke Damerel v Coombe Dean. After 4 sets it was 2-2. The final set after two minutes had the same amount of players still in which meant a final 1 minute overtime period was needed to decide the winner. With 5 seconds to go a player from Coombe Dean launched a shot at Stoke Damerel putting him out and finishing the game. It was quite clear that some of the participants had really put some practice in and some great dodging was seen. As well as some good catches to bring players back into the game.
The games continued with some great comebacks. After all the games were played the results were calculated and the results were –
1st DHSB - 6 Points
2nd Coombe Dean – 4 Points
3rd Stoke Damerel – 2 Points
Massive well done to everyone taking part and a big thankyou to the 2 ambassadors from DHSB who helped run the event
