Plympton Family KS2 C4L Multi Skills

Wednesday 16th February 2022 – What a fantastic morning at Plympton Academy. Our team of sports leaders arrived early to set up and get everything ready for our annual Plympton Academy KS2 Multi Skills festival. We had 5 schools with us today: Montpelier, Yealmpstone Farm, Widewell, Chaddlewood and Old Priory. The focus for today is mainly on fun but it is a team competition so all of the children strive to do their best in each event to score points for their school. The activities range from tests of skill and accuracy with the Bean Bag Throw; team events such as a Sprint Relay and Ladder Relay; speed and agility with the Speed Bounce and even a test of strength with the Chest Push challenge. There were so many smiling faces in the hall this morning, it was fantastic to see so many children enjoying being physically active and challenged. I would like to say a huge thank you to the young leaders who helped today – you really stepped up and made sure that all of the activities ran smoothly and several members of the visiting staff commented on how polite you were – thank you! Every child that took part today received a certificate and the overall winning team received a special certificate. Congratulations to Widewell who were our overall winning team today, having accumulated the most points in 4 out of the 5 scored events. Congratulations as well to Old Priory who were a very close 2nd place. Full table of results below. A huge well done to everyone who took part today, we could see how determined you were to do well for your team – I hope you had fun! I am already looking forward to our next event – check out the PSSP website to see what exciting event is coming up next.
